Due to life circumstances, many Triad youth find themselves homeless. With the
support of life coaches, mentors and supporters like you, our goal is to equip
these young adults with education and life strategies that will prepare them for a
successful journey towards a productive future.
Mentors Influence Homeless Youth
Homeless, jobless, unprepared and unskilled, some youth feel they must turn to
gangs for protection, abused and scarred for life. “I AM NOW” is an alternative to this
vicious cycle. Some youth feel they must turn to drugs, prostitution and stealing just
to survive, but in reality they end up in trouble, abused and scarred for life. “I AM
NOW” is an alternative to this vicious cycle.
We start by assisting with life’s most basic needs: food and shelter. From there, we
guide them to resources and mentors like you, who can help them gain even the
simplest life skills necessary to set goals and create a future they’ll be proud of.
If you know how to change a tire or even boil macaroni, chances are you’re showing
them something they’ve never learned.
Your time and contributions provide positive reinforcement, build self-esteem and
keep these bright young kids off the streets. Sometimes, sharing some of the things
you learned AFTER high-school is enough to make the difference between Homeless
and Hopeful for a Lifetime.
